PURPOSE OF STEEL FIBERS IN INDUSTRIAL/WAREHOUSE FLOORING

Concrete faces many challenges. It is subject to typical stresses like fatigue and loading, leading to cracks. Plain concrete has no Ductility, but steel fiber does have. When subjected to loading, compressive stresses and tensile stresses begin to build. Over time small cracks appear in places where the stress reaches its critical point. Steel fiber interacts with the concrete matrix, absorbing tensile stresses at any point and in any direction. When the crack occurs, the fibers remain solidly anchored at each side of the crack, acting as a stress transfer medium. Steel Fiber-reinforced concrete enhances the impact resistance, load-carrying capacity which ultimately increases the durability of concrete by controlling the cracks. The core difference between steel fiber and other ways is that the steel fibers are a part of the concrete matrix. Steel fibers are strong and reliable. They have proven their merit in the most demanding structures and applications. They prevent deformation of steel, they reduce resilient shrinkage, they improve concrete impermeability and increases its toughness and long-term weather ability. Their curvy style helps provide good binding with the concrete. Their low ductility factor makes them resist impact loads. Reducing the amount of steel thereby making a Cost-efficient project.
